Producer and film star son beaten to death by angry mob in Bangladesh, had connection with Indian Bengali films too

A heartbreaking news is coming from Bangladesh which is burning in the fire of violence. Bangladeshi film producer Salim Khan and his son Shanto Khan have been lynched. Apart from being a producer, Salim Khan was also the chairman of Lakshmipur Model Union Parishad in Chandpur Upazila, Bangladesh.

Reports have revealed that on Monday, August 5, Salim and Shanto were trying to run away from their house. Then an angry mob came in front of him in Ballia Union, Farakkabad market. He also fired bullets from his pistol to protect himself, but he again encountered a mob in the nearby Bagra market. It is being told that Salim and his son Shanto were beaten to death by an angry mob.

There was also a connection with Indian Bengali cinema.
Salim Khan was also associated with India’s Bengali film industry Tollywood. He had made a film ‘Commando’ with Dev, one of the big film stars of Tollywood, which was not released.

According to a report in Times of India, about 10 of Salim’s films in Tollywood were in different stages of production and big Tollywood stars were working in them. Executive producer Arindam, associated with Tollywood, had talked to Salim on Monday itself. Salim directed the Bangladeshi film ‘Tungiparar Miya Bhai’, which was inspired by the life of the first President of Bangladesh, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Corruption case was going on against Salim
Salim was accused of being involved in illegal excavation of sand from the Padma-Meghna river near Chandpur Navy Boundary for many years. It is being said that he had earned a lot from this illegal business. However, he was jailed for this work and a case is also going on against him in the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

Mohammad Sheikh Mohsin Alam, officer-in-charge of Chandpur Sadar Model Police, said, ‘We came to know about the death of both of them, but no one has informed us. Considering our safety, we did not go there.
