Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra visited Wayanad today (Wednesday) to submit her nomination papers. Priyanka was accompanied by her mother Sonia Gandhi, brother Rahul Gandhi and Congress president Mallikarjun Haq. Priyanka Gandhi signed the nomination papers in the presence of local leaders. She will start her road show in a while.
The Congress has also shown its strength here on the pretext of filing Priyanka’s nomination papers. Chief ministers of states ruled by the Congress party and senior leaders of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) were present in Wayanad to express support for Priyanka. As per Priyanka Gandhi’s plan, she will address people after her roadshow and then file her nomination papers.

He is contesting against Satyan Mokeri of the Left Democratic Front (LDF) and Navya Haridas of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Rahul Gandhi won the Wayanad and Rai Bareilly seats in the Lok Sabha elections and later vacated the Wayanad seat, after which a by-election will be held in the seat.
