Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has criticized the decision to soon appoint 45 experts through ‘lateral entry’ to key posts of Joint Secretaries, Directors and Deputy Secretaries in various ministries of the Centre. Condemning this, Rahul said that reservation for SC, ST and OBC categories is being openly snatched away by recruiting important posts through lateral entry.

In a post written on social media platform Earlier, SP supremo Akhilesh Yadav and BSP chief Mayawati also termed it as the arbitrariness of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and termed it as “conspiracy and violation of the Constitution”.

Rahul Gandhi’s post
Rahul Gandhi wrote, ‘Narendra Modi is attacking the Constitution by recruiting public servants through ‘Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’ instead of the Union Public Service Commission. Reservation of SC, ST and OBC categories is being openly snatched away by recruiting important posts in various ministries of the Central Government through lateral entry. I have always said that the underprivileged are not represented in all the top positions of the country including the top bureaucracy, instead of improving it, they are being further removed from top positions through lateral entry. This is a robbery on the rights of the talented youth preparing for UPSC. And the concept of social justice including reservation for the deprived is being hurt.

Rahul Gandhi further wrote, ‘A vivid example of what exploits the representatives of a few corporates will do by sitting on crucial government posts is SEBI, where a person coming from the private sector was made the chairperson for the first time. India will strongly oppose this anti-national step which hurts both administrative structure and social justice. Privatization of IAS is Modi’s guarantee to end reservation.

Lalu Yadav’s post

Lalu Prasad Yadav also opposed the lateral recruitment and wrote, ‘Fearing Baba Saheb’s Constitution and reservation, on the advice of Narendra Modi and his allies, the Union Public Service Commission has now appointed joint secretaries from the private sector in place of civil service personnel. Advertisement for direct recruitment has been issued for appointment at the level of Deputy Secretary and Director. No government employee can apply for this. There is no reservation given in the Constitution in this.

He further wrote, ‘This is the “Nagpuria Model” of directly appointing BJP’s private army i.e. the khaki-clad people working in the corporate to high positions in important ministries of the Government of India. Under the Sanghi model, in this appointment process, Dalits, backward classes and Tribal people will not get any benefit from reservation.

SP and BSP also came in protest
At the same time, SP chief and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has also warned of protesting against this decision from October 2. Akhilesh wrote on the social media platform The time has come.

He claimed that this method will close the way for today’s officials as well as the youth to reach higher positions in the present and future. The SP chief said that the BJP is aware that the ‘PDA’ across the country has woken up against its move to abolish the Constitution, so it wants to deny reservation on some other pretext by doing direct recruitment on such posts.

At the same time, BSP chief and former Chief Minister Mayawati also termed this decision of the government as wrong. He wrote on ‘X’, ‘The decision of direct recruitment on 45 higher posts of Joint Secretary, Director and Deputy Secretary at the Center is not right, because through direct recruitment, the employees working in lower posts are deprived of the benefit of promotion. Will have to. Mayawati said that it would be arbitrary for the BJP government to make direct appointments to these higher posts, which would be illegal and unconstitutional.
