A senior commander of the Islamic State of Syria and Iraq (ISIS) has been killed in Iraq. The slain commander served as the “Iraqi Wali” (the leader of ISIS in Iraq) within the terrorist organization ISIS. Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani announced the news on Facebook on Tuesday. He said the “Islamic State” Iraqi commander was killed during an operation in the Hamrin Mountains in the northeastern region of the country.

In a joint operation, ATS and ASS targeted hideouts in the Hamreen mountains where ISIS terrorists were hiding.
The Iraqi Prime Minister further wrote: “The soldiers of the Iraqi security forces are our heroes. I make it clear once again that there is no place for terrorists in Iraq. We will track them to their hideouts, eliminate them, and remove Iraqi soil from Liberation from the Islamic State terrorists and their criminal activities.
Just a few days ago, the United States claimed to have killed Islamic State terrorist Abu Issa. He is the largest Islamic State terrorist in northern Iraq. Abu Issa is known as the “Wali of Kirkuk”. On October 14, 2024, a joint operation between U.S. Central Command and Iraqi security forces killed four ISIS terrorists, including Abu Issa.
