New Delhi: Prime Minister Modi’s five-day visit to three countries is the most important, busiest and most successful. Prime Minister Modi visited Nigeria, Brazil and Guyana within these five days. During his visit, Prime Minister Modi met with 31 world leaders and heads of organizations. During this whirlwind tour, he was also awarded top national awards by Nigeria, Guyana and Dominica. So far, the number of international awards received by Prime Minister Modi has reached 20.
This visit also has the hidden meaning of Prime Minister Modi’s strong diplomacy. After Nigeria, he went straight to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to attend the G20 meeting. His last visit thereafter was to Guyana, where he attended the second India-CARICOM summit. During his five-day visit, Prime Minister Modi held a series of bilateral meetings with foreign leaders.
First bilateral meeting in Nigeria
Prime Minister Modi’s visit begins in Nigeria. So he held his first bilateral meeting in Nigeria. Since then, bilateral meetings have been held with 10 countries during the G20 Summit in Brazil. Afterwards, Prime Minister Modi set off for Guyana. In addition to attending the India-CARICOM summit, he also held bilateral meetings with heads of nine countries and international organizations.
Strengthen India’s relations with leaders of these countries
During the G20 Summit, Prime Minister Modi held a total of 10 bilateral meetings in Rio de Janeiro with the leaders of Brazil, Indonesia, Portugal, Italy, Norway, France, the United Kingdom, Chile, Argentina and Australia. Among the 10 bilateral meetings held in Brazil, Prime Minister Modi held bilateral talks with five leaders for the first time. These include Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto; Portuguese Prime Minister Luis Montenegro, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Chilean President Gabriel Boric and Argentinian President Javier Meli .
Talks were also held with the United States and Singapore
In Brazil, Prime Minister Modi held informal talks and meetings with leaders of Singapore, South Korea, Egypt, the United States, Spain, and heads of international organizations such as Von der Leyen of the European Union. These include Antonio Guterres, United Nations; Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, World Trade Organization; Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, World Health Organization; Kristalina Georgieva and Geeta Gopinath, International Monetary Fund.
Hold bilateral talks with these countries in Guyana
In Guyana, Prime Minister Modi also held bilateral meetings with the leaders of Dominica, Bahamas, Trinidad and Tobago, Suriname, Barbados, Antigua and Barbuda, Grenada and Saint Lucia, in addition to Guyana. This proves that Prime Minister Modi makes full use of his foreign visits to serve the national interest. Together with these 31 countries and organizations, he paved the way to take trade and cooperation to new heights and strengthen bilateral relations with India. Therefore, this is Prime Minister Modi’s busiest foreign trip.
