Abuja: Prime Minister Narendra Modi was awarded Nigeria’s highest honor, the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger, in Abuja. This is his 17th international award from other countries. The award will be presented to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on behalf of Nigeria on Sunday. The Nigerian prime minister will become the second-most honored person in the world to receive this highest honor. Prior to this, Queen Elizabeth of the United Kingdom was the only foreign dignitary to be awarded this honor by Nigeria in 1969.
Thereafter, current Prime Minister Narendra Modi will receive the award. This will be the 17th such international award given to Prime Minister Modi by any country. Previously, France, Japan, Australia and other countries have also awarded Prime Minister Modi the highest award.
