Union Home Minister Amit Shah
Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Tripura on Saturday. He inaugurated the 72nd plenary session of the North East Council (NEC) here. The event was also attended by Northeastern Regional Development Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and governors, chief ministers and officials of all eight northeastern states. During this period, Shah emphasized the development of the Northeast region.
Shah has arrived in Tripura to chair the 72nd plenary session of the NEC. The committee is the nodal agency for economic and social development in the Northeast region. The region includes Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura.
Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, who was present at the event, said that besides reviewing the work progress of the council this year, there will also be in-depth discussions on the future roadmap of the industry.

The investment ecosystem will be better – Shah
Speaking on the occasion, Amit Shah said that the work of creating a healthy ecosystem in the Northeast has been completed and the investment ecosystem will also become better. Shah said there are no connectivity issues now. The Northeast region is developing rapidly and will continue to develop rapidly in the future.
Shah said that Prime Minister Modi has visited the Northeast 65 times so far and brought some gifts every time. Shah said that now the Northeast must move closer to the best of India. Our efforts are to make every Northeastern person prosperous.
Tight security arrangements for the show
Tight security arrangements have been made in and around the capital Agartala in view of the two-day visit of the home minister. Around 2,000 Tripura State Rifles (TSR) personnel have been deployed in and around Agartala to ensure tight security during the home minister’s visit and the plenary meeting of the State Election Commission.
