Previous: Tragic accident in Kaushambi, woman dies after colliding with speeding truck, brother in critical condition

A 26-year-old woman died and her brother was seriously injured in a tragic road accident in Kaushambi district of Uttar Pradesh on Friday. Police said the incident took place in the Kokhraj police station area when the brother and sister were returning from taking a bath in the Ganga at Sandipan Ghat.

Sirathu CO Awadhesh Kumar Vishwakarma said the accident took place on Bharwari-Manjhanpur road when a speeding truck hit his two-wheeler. The impact of the collision was so powerful that the woman, Priyanka Sankar, a resident of Vishara village, died on the spot, while her brother Raju was seriously injured.

Police said the truck driver fled the scene after the accident, the news agency reported. After receiving information about the incident, the police immediately rushed to the scene and immediately sent the injured Raju to a local hospital for treatment.

Priyanka’s body has been sent for autopsy and the incident is under investigation, police said. Police are scanning footage from CCTV cameras installed in the surrounding areas to identify and arrest the truck driver.

Priyanka’s family is in mourning over her death. Villagers expressed concern about vehicles traveling too fast on the road and the increasing number of accidents. Locals said effective measures should be taken to control the speed of vehicles on the Bharwari-Manjhanpur road to prevent such incidents.
