During Mahakumbh 2025, every corner of the exhibition area will be monitored by the Third Eye. For this purpose, high-resolution cameras will be installed on mobile towers in addition to manually licensed CCTV cameras and drones. The resolution of these cameras is so high that they will keep a close eye on every activity happening on many ghats and major routes including the Sangam coast. Kumbh will help the police in strengthening security arrangements.
During the Kumbh Mela, the Kumbh Mela Police will monitor the entire exhibition area using more than 2,700 CCTV cameras, more than half of which will contain AI-licensed cameras. Additionally, tethered drones will be used.
‘Officials are working hard’
According to SSP Mahakumbh Rajesh Dwivedi, there is a possibility that a large number of devotees will come to Mahakumbh 2025 this time. Especially during the bathing period, this number can reach into crores of rupees. In this situation, every police officer followed the instructions of CM Yogi and worked hard to maintain security and ensure that no untoward incident took place.
There is also a plan to use tethered cameras
He told us that for this scenario, Khumbu police planned to use three to four tethered cameras for the first time. The cameras will be deployed at a height by tying ropes to a large balloon, from where they will be able to monitor the entire exhibition area. However, it is necessary to turn off these cameras every 6 to 7 hours. In this case, there are plans to install high-resolution cameras on mobile towers. They don’t have to be removed again and again and can keep an eye on the entire exhibition area.
Main sites will be monitored
He said work on installing a large number of mobile towers across the exhibition area was proceeding at a fast pace. Among them, such towers close to major locations will be marked. Like the banks of the Sangam, the Ghat is where the largest crowds occur and is the main route that most devotees arrive at. These high-resolution cameras will be mounted on these marked towers. Due to their high resolution, these cameras are able to see very far away.
This way, the control room will be able to get every important shot of the exhibition area. In this way, highly congested places can be identified and police arrangements can be made there immediately. At the same time, any type of suspicious activity can also be monitored.
He told us it’s not yet certain how many cameras will be installed. But soon its outline will be ready and will start before the start of Kumbh Mela.
