Prayagraj: A 32-year-old inspector died while sitting on his seat after suffering a heart attack while riding in a bus on his way home.

There was a stir when the body of a police inspector was found inside a road bus in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. The deceased inspector, Anurag Sharma (32), was travelling to Prayagraj from Lucknow to meet his family. It is suspected that the inspector died of a heart attack in the bus. As soon as the news came out, the family members were in mourning.

It is learnt that the bus conductor informed the police immediately after seeing the inspector unconscious. After reaching the spot, the police identified the inspector and immediately rushed him to the nearby SRN Hospital. By then it was too late. The doctor declared the inspector dead. The incident took place on Sunday.

The deceased inspector Anurag Sharma belonged to the 2013 batch and was currently posted in Lucknow to look after the security of the courts. Anurag Sharma was also in charge of the Prayagraj crime branch and Kareli, Khuldabad and Shahganj police stations. The inspector’s family lived in Khuldabad police station and he was travelling to Prayagraj on leave to meet his family. But he died on the way.

According to sources, when the road bus reached the Zero Bus Stand in Prayagraj on Sunday morning, all passengers got off the bus, but Inspector Anurag Sharma did not stand up from his seat. The bus conductor then saw him and tried to wake him up, but there was no response. The bus conductor then immediately informed the local police about the incident. After receiving the information, the police immediately rushed to the scene for a check. When the police arrived, they found that he had died.

Police officials said that preliminary investigations showed that the cause of death of Inspector Anurag may be a heart attack/cardiac arrest. At present, the body has been sent for postmortem. In addition, the inspector’s family has also been informed.

Inspector Anurag Sharma was recently transferred from Prayagraj to Lucknow. He used to come to Prayagraj to meet his family. There was an outcry in the police department over his untimely death.
