Former BJP MP Pravesh Verma raised his demand for a New Delhi parliamentary seat even before the BJP election results were announced. Pravesh Verma has announced himself as a candidate for the Legislative Assembly in New Delhi. Arvind Kejriwal, former chief minister of Delhi and national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party, is contesting in the New Delhi Assembly elections.
Following this statement, it is believed that AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal may be challenged from the New Delhi constituency in the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections. Meanwhile, Parvesh Verma has reportedly started opposing Kejriwal.

Let us tell you that the Aam Aadmi Party has released two lists for the Delhi Assembly elections. The BJP is expected to announce the first list of candidates after the winter session of Parliament. In the Lok Sabha elections, the BJP won all seven Lok Sabha seats. Following this, the BJP is gearing up to launch a serious challenge to Aam Aadmi Party in the assembly elections.
Delhi assembly elections to be held next year
Pravesh Verma represented West Delhi in the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections and defeated Mehrauli in the 2013 Delhi Assembly elections. His fathers include Sahib Singh Verma, who served as Delhi Chief Minister from 1996 to 1998.
The term of the current Delhi Assembly will end in 2025 and elections are likely to be held in February next year. The BJP won 62 out of 70 seats in 2020 and gained a stronger position with 67 seats in 2015, but is gearing up after winning the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Meanwhile, on the issue of GST policy, Arvind Kejriwal has resigned as chief minister and Atishi is currently serving as the state chief minister and Arvind Kejriwal is busy campaigning for elections.
