In Uttar Pradesh, strict action will be taken against restaurant and dhaba operators if food products are found to be adulterated. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued instructions in this regard. The Chief Minister on Tuesday convened an important meeting on the issue of food adulteration. During this period, he gave many instructions.

While issuing the directive, the Chief Minister said that intensive inspection of such eateries/restaurants and catering establishments will now be conducted. In addition, police will verify every employee working on the premises.

Necessary amendments to the Food Safety and Standards Act have been directed to ensure purity and sanctity of UP food.

Catering centers must display the name and address of the operator, owner, manager, etc. Now everyone, whether chef or waiter, must wear a mask and gloves. Additionally, CCTV installation will also be made mandatory in hotels/restaurants. If waste and other dirty materials are found to be adulterated, strict action will be taken against the operators/owners.
