The UP Congress was scheduled to convene the state assembly on Wednesday. However, police stopped Congress workers. During the ensuing protests, party member Prabhat Pandey was killed. The police have issued a notice to Congress state president Ajay Rai in this regard. In response, Ajay Rai said that he has not received any such notification so far. However, he has pledged to cooperate with the investigation.

Speaking to PTI, Deputy Commissioner of Police Raveena Tyagi said that a notice has been issued to Ajay Rai to join the investigation under the provisions of the Indian Judicial Security Act (BNSS). Let us tell you that Prabhat Pandey is a resident of Gorakhpur. He lives with his uncle in Lucknow.

Locals accused of taking political advantage

Prabhat’s last rites were performed on Thursday. There was pandemonium when Ajay Rai came to pay his respects. Local people expressed opposition to the incident and accused Congress of taking political advantage. Rai, meanwhile, alleged that Prabhat died due to police violence. He was taken from his congressional office to a hospital where he died.

No injuries were found on Prabhat’s body

In this case, Raveena Tyagi had earlier said that Prabhat was taken to the hospital from the Congress office in a comatose state. Doctors pronounced him dead there. There were no signs of injury on his body. The police have registered an FIR in the matter.

What did Prabhat’s uncle say?

Prabhat’s uncle said his nephew should have been taken to a doctor when he lost consciousness. If people in the party had paid attention, the nephew’s life could have been saved. We got a call from the congressional office on Wednesday. He was told his nephew lay unconscious. The caller asked to go to the office.
