‘Police is suppressing the case, there was an attempt to bribe as well…’, alleges the father of the female doctor who lost her life in the Kolkata incident

The case of rape and murder of a trainee doctor in Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical Hospital is still in the news. Protests are being held continuously demanding justice for the victim. Meanwhile, the victim’s father has given a big statement about the Kolkata Police.

The victim’s father says that the Kolkata Police tried to suppress the case by cremating the body in a hurry. He alleged that a senior police officer of Kolkata Police tried to bribe us after the case came to light.

He said that Kolkata Police was trying to suppress this case from the very beginning. We were not even allowed to see the body of our daughter and were made to wait for hours in the police station. The body was handed over to us after the post-mortem. Meanwhile, a senior police officer tried to bribe us but we refused.

The victim’s family says that they joined the protest of junior doctors to get justice for their daughter. Demonstrations are being held all over Bengal since August 10. People from different fields are demanding justice for the victim. After the matter escalated, the Calcutta High Court handed over the investigation of this case to the CBI.

What is the case of RG Kar Medical College

On 9th August, in the wee hours of RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata, a female resident doctor was raped and murdered. After committing this crime, the drunken accused Sanjay Roy slept in the same building, who was later arrested by the police. The CBI is currently investigating this case.

After the incident, Sanjay Roy’s arrest and interrogation have revealed many important things. What Sanjay Roy did after the incident has entangled the police in many questions. According to the information revealed after the interrogation, after the incident, Sanjay Roy went straight to the Fourth Battalion and slept there. When he woke up on the morning of August 10, he drank alcohol again and went back to sleep. When the police got suspicious, they searched all the CCTV footage around the seminar hall of the hospital. In these footage, Sanjay Roy’s activities as well as other people were identified.
