PM Narendra Modi’s election campaign begins in JK and Haryana, will address public meetings in Doda and Kurukshetra

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will start the campaign for BJP in the Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana assembly elections from today. The PM will start his campaign for the Bharatiya Janata Party by addressing an election rally in Jammu and Kashmir. The PM will reach Doda at around 12:30 pm and will address the rally at around 1:15 pm.

The security forces have made strict security arrangements for the PM’s rally. After Doda, the PM will start the election campaign by holding a rally in Haryana’s Kurukshetra.

PM’s rally in Doda after 4 decades

The PM’s rally in Doda, Jammu and Kashmir will be held at the Sports Stadium, during which the PM will seek votes for the candidates of eight assembly seats of three districts of Chenab Valley – Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban. In the 2014 assembly elections, PM Modi had addressed a rally in Kishtwar. After four decades, a PM of the country will address an election rally in Doda for the first time. The last Prime Minister’s visit to Doda was in 1982.

To ensure peaceful and smooth conduct of the election rally to be held at the stadium in Doda town, security forces in Doda-Kishtwar have deployed multi-layer security, especially around the venue. Apart from the PM, Coal and Mines Minister and BJP election in-charge for Jammu and Kashmir G Kishan Reddy will campaign in Samba on Friday.

Will blow the election bugle in Haryana too

After holding a rally in Doda in the afternoon, the Prime Minister will launch the BJP’s election campaign for the Haryana Assembly elections. The PM will reach Kurukshetra at around 3:45 pm on Saturday evening and will address an election rally at around 4:30 pm. It is being said that the PM will seek support for 23 candidates from 6 districts through this rally.

‘CM appeals to people to join the rally’

Haryana CM Naib Singh Saini on Friday appealed to the people to attend the rally in large numbers. Meanwhile, before the PM’s rally, senior police officers visited the rally site on Friday and took stock of the security arrangements.

Voting will be held in one phase in Haryana

Voting in Haryana will be held on October 5, while the counting of votes will take place on October 8. The BJP is eyeing to win power in the state for the third consecutive time.

At the same time, let us tell you that this is the first assembly election to be held in Jammu and Kashmir after the removal of Article 370. Voting will be held in three phases in the entire Jammu and Kashmir. The first phase will be on September 18, the second on September 25, and the third and final phase on October 1. Counting of votes will be held on October 8.
