Jammu, September 14: BJP national general secretary and Jammu and Kashmir in-charge Tarun Chugh today said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Doda has exposed the “dangerous anti-national game between Abdullah, Mufti and the Congress party”.

According to a press release, he addressed public meetings in Mendhar and Surankot. Chugh appreciated the people of Jammu for turning out in large numbers for PM Modi’s rally in Doda today and pointed out that their overwhelming support has infused new energy and enthusiasm among BJP workers. “This strong support has boosted the morale of our Karyakartas who are eagerly awaiting the Prime Minister’s address,” he said.

The veteran BJP leader stressed that large-scale development works have been taken up in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir under the leadership of the BJP over the past decade. He stressed that these projects benefited both the rich and the poor, contrary to the policies of previous governments, which had used the region as a vote bank for 70 years without bringing any real benefits, especially to these remote areas. He also stressed that the NC would not reconsider the ST Act in any way.

Chugh also highlighted key points from PM Modi’s speech, reiterating that the government remains fully committed to the all-round development of Jammu and Kashmir. “Our Prime Minister has stressed that terrorism is in its last days in Jammu and Kashmir,” he remarked. He stressed that the upcoming elections in Jammu and Kashmir will play a decisive role in shaping the future of Jammu and Kashmir, in line with PM Modi’s vision of a terrorism-free, prosperous region.

The veteran BJP leader said there is new hope and progress in the lives of common people in Jammu and Kashmir since the abrogation of Article 370. He added: “The political dynasties that historically ruled Jammu and Kashmir for decades and fostered separatism and terrorism must be toppled.” Chugh agreed, saying: “The leadership of these families has only brought instability and suffering to Jammu and Kashmir, while our government is focused on empowering the common people and promoting peace.”

Referring to the Prime Minister’s promise to restore the statehood of Jammu and Kashmir, Chugh stressed the BJP’s commitment to building a region free of terrorism and thriving as a major tourist hub. “Our government is committed to making Jammu and Kashmir a tourist haven and a symbol of peace. The upcoming elections will consolidate this transition,” he said.

The senior BJP leader also spoke about the transformative infrastructure projects announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying they would take the region to the level of development on par with other parts of India.
