Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to US President Biden on phone on Monday. During this, PM Modi appreciated President Biden’s commitment towards the India-US partnership. Both the leaders highlighted that the India-US partnership aims to benefit the people of both the countries as well as the entire humanity. They discussed various regional and global issues, including the situation in Ukraine. The Prime Minister also briefed President Biden about his recent visit to Ukraine.
The Prime Minister reiterated India’s full support for the early return of peace and stability. The two leaders emphasized the restoration of law and order in Bangladesh and ensuring the safety of minorities, especially Hindus. They reiterated their commitment to further strengthen multilateral cooperation, including the Quad.
In a statement issued by the PMO, it was told that Prime Minister Modi appreciated President Biden’s deep commitment to the India-US comprehensive global strategic partnership, which is based on the shared values of democracy, rule of law and strong ties between people. The leaders reviewed the significant progress made in bilateral relations and highlighted that the India-US partnership aims to benefit the people of both countries as well as the entire humanity.
The two leaders had a detailed exchange of views on a number of regional and global issues. While discussing the situation in Ukraine, PM Modi briefed President Biden on his recent visit to Ukraine. He reiterated India’s consistent position in favour of dialogue and diplomacy and expressed full support for an early return to peace and stability.
The statement said that the two leaders expressed their shared concern over the situation in Bangladesh. They stressed on the restoration of law and order and ensuring the safety of minorities, especially Hindus, in Bangladesh. Both the leaders reiterated their commitment to further strengthen cooperation on multilateral forums, including the Quad.
