For example, if the PM visits any state of the country, then the state police there arranges security according to these books. Apart from this, the program is organized according to the rules written in these books. Like what kind of helicopter will be there, where the PM’s program can be held, how will entry, exit or access be given there.
What is written in the Blue Book?
First let us talk about the Blue Book. The Blue Book contains complete information about the security of the Prime Minister and other VIPs and VVIPs and also contains information about the full drill. It contains every procedure for every scenario and it is updated from time to time. It contains micro and macro steps that are adopted for the security of VVIs.
For example, it is written in this book that whenever the Prime Minister goes on a tour, the SPG first does Advance Security Liaison, in which a recce is done first and a plan is made accordingly. Then the PM’s route and program is decided according to the decided plan. When PM Modi’s convoy stopped for some time in Punjab, at that time there was a lot of discussion about this blue, in which information related to the route is written.
Then what is the Yellow Book?
If we talk about the Yellow Book, it contains the responsibilities of the state police and security agencies. It also contains the category of security for every dignitary. It also contains information about protocol arrangements and the Home Ministry keeps issuing guidelines through the inputs of secret agencies.
