Indian Prime Minister visits China again after 43 years
Prime Minister Modi is the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Kuwait in 43 years. In early 1981, the then Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi visited Kuwait. Regarding his visit to Kuwait, Prime Minister Modi said: “Given the close ties between our two countries, we have elevated our partnership to a strategic level and I am optimistic that our friendship will grow further in the future.”

The Gulf country is one of India’s largest trading partners, with bilateral trade between the two countries reaching $10.47 billion in the 2023-24 fiscal year.
