In Aaj Tak’s Mood of the Nation (MOTN) survey, people of Maharashtra have given their opinion on the functioning of the government, Chief Minister, MPs and MLAs. The survey has revealed important figures about the satisfaction and dissatisfaction of the public, which reflects the current political situation of the state.

People’s opinion on the working of the government

According to the MOTN survey, 25% people in Maharashtra are completely satisfied with the functioning of the state government, while 34% people are satisfied to some extent. But about 34% of the people are also expressing dissatisfaction with the work of the government. This data shows that the public has a mixed opinion about the performance of the government.

People’s opinion on the work of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde

35% people are satisfied with the work of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, while 31% people are somewhat satisfied. However, 28% people are dissatisfied with his work. This shows that the performance of the Chief Minister is meeting the expectations of the people to some extent, but there is still scope for improvement.

Demonstration by MPs and MLAs

32% people are satisfied with the performance of MPs, while 22% are somewhat satisfied and the same number of people are dissatisfied. At the same time, 41% people are satisfied with the performance of MLAs, which is better than MPs. 26% people are somewhat satisfied with the work of MLAs, while 27% are dissatisfied. This makes it clear that the public is more satisfied with the work of MLAs.

The biggest issues of Maharashtra

This survey also revealed that the biggest issue for the people of Maharashtra is unemployment, which has been given priority by 32% people. After this, development and inflation are both important issues for 15% people. Issues related to farmers have been given priority by 13% people, while law and order and corruption issues have been given attention by 2% and 4% people respectively. This makes it clear that lack of employment remains the biggest concern for the people of the state.

First choice as PM

The first choice of the people of Maharashtra for the post of Prime Minister is Narendra Modi, who has 46% support. At the same time, 34% people have said that Rahul Gandhi is their choice. These figures indicate that Narendra Modi’s popularity remains in the state, but Rahul Gandhi is also emerging as a strong contender.

Role of the opposition

11% people are satisfied with the role of the opposition in the state, while 21% people are somewhat satisfied. However, 30% people are dissatisfied with the functioning of the opposition. This shows that the public expects the opposition to play a more effective role.

The data of the MOTN survey makes it clear that the public opinion about the performance of the government and leaders in Maharashtra is mixed. While unemployment remains the biggest concern of the state, Narendra Modi’s popularity for the post of Prime Minister also remains intact. However, the opposition needs to strengthen its role further so that it can live up to the expectations of the public.
