Regarding the parliamentary by-elections for nine seats in Uttar Pradesh, the PDM has also announced candidates for three seats. The three seats are Kundarki, Meerapur and Majhwan. Asaduddin Owaisi-led party AIMIM has fielded candidates in two of the seats, while the Pragatisheel Manav Samaj Party has fielded candidates in one seat.
AIMIM has appointed Mohammad Waris from Kundarki seat and Arshad Rana from Mirapur as its candidate. Meanwhile, the Majhwan seat was won by the Pragatisheel Manav Samaj Party, which fielded Swayambar Pal.
Let us tell you that when PDM (i.e. Backward, Dalits and Muslims) was formed, Pallavi Patel of Kameravadi also supported AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi ) own political party. Both play a leading role in this alliance, but so far, Pallavi Patel’s Apna Dal Kameravadi has not made its intentions clear for this by-election.
Will Akhilesh’s PDA be challenged?
It will be interesting to see whether Pallavi Patel’s party also fields its own candidate in the elections this time or withdraws from the race. PDM is also discussed in UP politics as it is seen as a challenge to Akhilesh Yadav’s PDA.
