Champions Trophy 2025: The Champions Trophy 2025 will be hosted in Pakistan. But the BCCI refused to send the Indian team there. The ICC has informed the PCB of the matter. In this case, there is speculation that the championship trophy will be held in a hybrid mode. Because BCCI wants the tournament to be held in other countries. The Pakistan Cricket Board, on the other hand, is stubborn and has completely rejected the hybrid model. Instead, the PCB has asked the ICC to clarify why India does not want to travel to Pakistan.
PCB is waiting for ICC reply
Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Mohsin Naqvi said if India has any concerns about sending a team to Pakistan, then they should talk to us and we will resolve the issues. I don’t see any reason why India should not come to Pakistan to collect the championship trophy. He said the PCB has written to the ICC to get more information about the BCCI’s decision. “We are in direct contact with the ICC and are awaiting their response so that we can move things forward,” he said.
ICC recommends considering credibility
When Naqvi was asked, would the PCB’s situation become more difficult if Jay Shah takes over as ICC president from December 1? He said that’s not what happened. Each board is independent and has its own identity. I think the ICC should also consider its credibility as it represents all the cricket boards in the world.
This time, Mohsin Naqvi sidestepped issues such as excluding cities from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) from the ICC Champions Trophy circuit and organizing the event in a hybrid mode. He said I came here to talk about the stadium construction work. We await the announcement of the timetable and the response from the ICC. The construction of sports venues in Lahore, Karachi and Rawalpindi was completed ahead of schedule.
