Key Lessons from PM Modi’s Interaction with Students

During the eighth edition of Pariksha Pe Charcha 2025, PM Modi shared valuable insights on handling academic pressure, time management, goal setting, self-motivation, and overcoming failures. Here are some key takeaways from his conversation with students.
On Handling Pressure
While addressing how students can handle pressure, PM Modi used cricket as an analogy. He explained that just as a batsman ignores the noise and chants in a stadium to focus on the ball, students should also concentrate on their studies instead of worrying about pressure and how to overcome it.
On Time Management
PM Modi emphasized that everyone has the same 24 hours in a day, yet some make full use of it while others waste it. He advised students to plan their day in advance by writing down their tasks on paper. Instead of spending most of their time on subjects they are already comfortable with, students should allocate more time to difficult subjects, viewing them as challenges rather than obstacles.
On Goals and Targets
When a student shared her disappointment about scoring 93% in Class 10 board exams instead of her target of 95%, PM Modi reassured her that it was not a failure but a success. He encouraged students to set achievable goals so that they can progress step by step. He congratulated the student for setting a target slightly above her comfort level, saying, “If you set your goal at 97, you will definitely achieve 95.”
On Self-Motivation
PM Modi stressed the importance of self-motivation, advising students to set small, achievable goals that would keep them motivated. He encouraged them to challenge themselves and celebrate small victories daily. He added that inspiration can be found all around them if they look closely.
Message to Parents
PM Modi also had a message for parents. He urged them not to compare their children with others or treat them like models. Instead, he encouraged parents to understand their children’s dreams, recognize their strengths, guide them, and support their journey. He further advised parents not to let their ego or social status interfere with their child’s success.
On Overcoming Failures
During his conversation, PM Modi pointed out that 30 to 40% of students in Classes 10 and 12 fail, but they try again and succeed. He emphasized that students must understand the difference between academic success and success in life. He advised students to reflect on their mistakes, learn from them, and work towards improvement.
By following these insights, students can handle pressure better, manage their time efficiently, set achievable goals, stay motivated, and learn from their failures.
