Pakistan: Rocket attack on police team, 11 policemen killed, many injured

On Thursday, miscreants attacked a police team with rockets in Pakistan’s Punjab province. At least 11 policemen were killed and many were injured in this attack. Many policemen were taken hostage. The policemen were attacked when two police mobile vans got stuck on a muddy road at Macha Point.

A Punjab Police spokesperson said, “Meanwhile, the dacoits reached there and attacked them with rockets. At least 11 policemen were killed on the spot in the attack, while some were taken hostage and the rest were injured.”

He said that the death toll may increase as the condition of some of the injured is critical. The criminals managed to escape after the attack. After the incident, a large number of police forces reached the spot and the injured were admitted to Sheikh Zayed Hospital in Rahim Yar Khan.

Taking strong cognizance of the incident, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz ordered IG Police Dr. Usman Anwar to reach the spot and launch an operation to rescue the policemen held hostage by the criminals. She said that the rule of criminals will not be tolerated in the kacha areas (suburbs) of such districts.

Two children killed in firing on school van

Earlier, a case of firing on a school van came to light in Attock, Pakistan. An unknown person carried out this attack. In which two children died while five children were injured. This incident took place in Dheri Kot of Attock. The driver of the school van was also injured in this attack. The injured were taken to the hospital for treatment. Attock Police says that the attacker fled from the spot after firing. The age of all the children is between 10 to 12 years.

Regional police officer Babar Sarfaraz Alpa says that this incident happened due to personal enmity. The attacker’s target was the driver but school children also became his victims. A case has been registered against the suspects in this matter. The police have started arresting the suspects.
