The Pakistani government has extended an invitation to Islamic preacher Zakir Naik, who is wanted in India on multiple charges including inflammatory speeches, money laundering and promoting terrorism. Naik will leave for Pakistan on October 5 next month along with his son Sheikh Farooq Naik. Meanwhile, Zakir Naik spoke to a YouTuber from Pakistan, in which he talked about his visit to India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Kashmir.

Zakir Naik leaves for Pakistan

India’s controversial Islamic preacher Zakir Naik, who lives in Malaysia, tweeted on social media site X to inform about his visit to Pakistan. Naik told reporters that he and his son traveled to Pakistan at the invitation of the Pakistani government.

During his visit, Naik will organize public lectures in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad, Pakistan.

What did Zakir Naik say about coming to India?

Zakir Naik also started a channel called Peace TV where he gave provocative speeches. Naik has been accused of influencing young people through his speeches and turning towards fundamentalism.

In 2016, Naik came into the spotlight when a bomb exploded in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. One of the attackers said he was influenced by the Zakir Naik video. Thereafter, the severity of the attack on Naik intensified and he fled India a few months later. On Easter Sunday 2019, an explosion occurred in Sri Lanka. The explosion was also linked to Naik. The attack killed more than 260 people and caused casualties.
