The Congress on Monday distanced itself from the comments made by some Congress leaders on the Pahalgam terror attack, called it a “personal opinion” and said that the Congress Working Committee proposals and the comments of senior party leaders and the authorized AICC office-bearers show the party’s stance.
Ramesh told ANI, “It is true that some leaders of the Congress party are saying many things, but this is his personal opinion. I want to clarify that no one has given him the right to say all … The Congress party has nothing to do with these statements, and the party does not agree with such statements.”
“Some Congress leaders who had an important situation in the past, senior leaders have expressed some views. The Congress party has nothing to do with these ideas. We distinguish ourselves from these ideas. These are personal views. Congress views are expressed in the affection of CWC. This is developed in this most sensitive time, will clarify the position of the Congress Working Committee, Congress President, Lok Sabha Lopa Party.

“What individual Congress leaders are saying is his idea. The Congress party’s approach is the approach to CWC resolution, the ideas expressed by the Congress President and the LOP in the Lok Sabha. There are security flaws and intelligence failures. However, we need unity, solidarity, a collective response, a collective response and continuous communication.
The Congress leader also posted the party’s stand on X.
He said that the Congress Working Committee had met on 24 April 2025 and passed a resolution on a cruel terrorist attack on tourists in Pahgam two days ago and Congress President Mallikrajun Kharge and Lok Saba Rahul Gandhi took part in all party meeting and took forward the party’s views.
“Some Congress leaders are talking to the media. They speak for themselves and do not reflect the ideas of Ink. There should be no doubt in the most sensitive time of this time that CWC resolution, Mallikarajun Kharge and the ideas expressed by Rahul Gandhi and representing the AICC office-bearers representing.”
Following the comment of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, which he later clarified, Congress leader Saifuddin Soz said that if Pakistan says it is not involved in the Pahgam terror attack, “Let’s accept that for a time and eventually the agencies go to check”.
He also said that India and Pakistan are neighbors and will not do anything between the two countries except “dialogues”.
On 22 April, the terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir targeted tourists, killing 26 people, including a Nepali citizen. After the Pahalgam terror attack, India has taken strong measures against Pakistan to support cross-limit terrorism. (AI)
