Samsung has also decided to follow the path of brands like Oppo, Vivo, Xiaomi and others. The Korean company may soon launch its own sub-brand. Currently, the company is launching Galaxy Z, Galaxy S, Galaxy A, Galaxy F and Galaxy M series of flagship, foldable, mid-range and budget smartphones. The company will launch a new sub-brand for its premium segment that will compete with brands like Apple and Google.
New brands in high-end market segments
According to Korean website eToday, Samsung is currently conducting market research before launching a new brand. To this end, the company is studying its position in the market based on Hyundai Motor’s recently launched new premium brand Genesis. Reports suggest that Samsung could launch its flagship brand in the US and European markets.
Samsung’s cheapest smartphone, Galaxy A06, starts at Rs 9,999. Meanwhile, Apple’s cheapest iPhone, the iPhone SE series, starts at Rs 47,600. Meanwhile, Samsung’s premium smartphone Galaxy S24 Ultra is priced at Rs 1,21,999. Meanwhile, the foldable phone is priced at Rs 1,44,999, while the Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max is priced at Rs 1,44,900.
The company is making preparations
The Korean brand will launch the Galaxy S25 series early next year. The company could also announce new brands through the series. The company is currently rolling out AI features for its mid-range and budget smartphones, the Galaxy A and Galaxy M series. Not only that, the company is also preparing OneUI 7.0 based on Android 15 for its devices.
Samsung’s market share has declined in many large markets, including India. In particular, Chinese companies Xiaomi, Vivo and Oppo have posed serious challenges to Samsung not only in India, but also in the US and European markets. These companies offer high-end features of Samsung flagship phones at low prices. Under such circumstances, users have turned to digital series such as OnePlus, OPPO Find X, and Xiaomi. The new strategy could help the company correctly segment its smartphone segments.
