Teachers Day 2024: Today is the 136th birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the first Vice-President and second President of independent India. He was a famous philosopher, educationist, politician and writer of India. He was born on 5 September 1888. Since 1962, his birthday is celebrated as Teachers’ Day. This was also his idea. Dr. Radhakrishnan had respect for teachers and he had said that Teachers’ Day should be celebrated instead of his birthday. He considered teachers as the creators of society and people who make important contributions to the development of the country. That is why his birthday is celebrated as Teachers’ Day.

On the occasion of Teacher’s Day, today we are telling you about a teacher from Uttar Pradesh, who has taken the initiative to bring disabled children out of the darkness of ignorance. The teacher of special children in Uttar Pradesh is setting an example for the people. Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself has praised her work.

Didi, the teacher of hundreds of special children

We are talking about Deepmala Pandey, ‘Teacher Didi’ from Bareilly, UP. She herself has started ‘One Teacher One Call’ for special children and has extended a helping hand to hundreds of students. This teacher is famous among the students as Teacher Didi.

Teacher Didi has changed the lives of more than 800 children

Actually, Teacher Didi has changed the way of teaching Divyang or special children and has connected them to the mainstream. Due to her unique way of teaching, children are not only studying well but their interest in studies has also increased. So far, more than 800 special children have been admitted to the school.

Now more than 50 teachers have joined Deepmala’s campaign

Deepmala (teacher) said that the main objective of this mission is that as many disabled children as possible should get admission in school and study. Although initially there were a lot of problems with these children, but gradually these children started understanding my language and I started understanding them. She says that I started this campaign alone, then gradually people started joining her campaign. Now more than 50 teachers in the entire district have joined her campaign, who are helping special children.

PM Modi has also praised

Deepmala said that my confidence increased when Prime Minister Narendra Modi mentioned my name and my work in Mann Ki Baat. Since then I have made many changes in my work. Now we are working on the issue of how to increase the number of special trainers for special children, so that more and more special children can get help from this.
