The effect of heavy rains in the hills of Nepal for the last three days has started to be seen in Bahraich district of Uttar Pradesh situated on the Indo-Nepal border. More than four dozen villages in three tehsils of the district have been hit by floods due to more than 10 lakh cusecs of water released in the two major rivers of the district, Ghaghra and Saryu, during the last 24 hours.

The biggest problem is in the man-eating wolf-affected villages of Aurahi, Sisaiyya Chudamani and Janaki Nagar of Mahsi tehsil area of Bahraich, where more than two dozen teams of the forest department have been conducting combing and search operations to catch the man-eating wolves for the last two months. On one hand, the people of this area have lost their sleep and peace due to the terror of wolves. On the other hand, they are facing double trouble due to the flood water entering the villages.

During the last four days, five people including three children from different villages have been admitted to Bahraich Medical College after being attacked by wolves.
