OLA accused of theft, MapMyIndia sent court notice, this is the whole matter

OLA recently launched its in-house maps Ola Maps and has also started using it in its service. Now a new war has started regarding these maps. Actually, MapMyIndia’s parent company CE Info System has sent a notice to Ola Electric and has made serious allegations of data theft against it.

CE Info System has alleged that Ola has copied its data and has also accused it of violating license rules. He said that he has saved the data of MapMyIndia.

CE Info System sent legal

According to a Forbes India report, CE Info System has sent a legal notice and claimed that Ola has violated the terms of the 2021 agreement and caused harm to its business. The report said that under the agreement, reverse engineering and any tampering was prohibited.

OLA founder Bhavish Aggarwal gave this answer

When OLA’s founder and CEO Bhavish Aggarwal came to the IPO press conference, he was asked about this notice. Regarding this he said that this is not the right place to answer this question. This should not be given place in the discussion of IPO.

Ola Maps will be used, not Google Maps.

After the announcement of development of Ola Maps, CEO Bhavish Aggarwal has announced that now his platform will shift from Google Maps to OLA Maps. Ola used to pay around Rs 100 crore for using Google Maps, after Ola Maps this amount will be saved.
