The Rajasthan High Court has taken cognizance of the Jaipur fire incident. Single bench of the High Court, Anoop Dhane, has ordered the state government to investigate the guilty officials in the LPG explosion case on the Bankrota Expressway and punish the culprits. The court stated that those who caused accidents due to dereliction of duty or omission should be punished after investigation.
At the same time, appropriate compensation should be immediately arranged for the injured and the families of the deceased in this accident. The court said such factories should be relocated from densely populated areas and set up. Chemical and flammable plants should be located away from densely populated areas. In its order, the court said that the bridge work under construction on the highway should be completed as soon as possible within the stipulated time for the convenience of common citizens.
“There should be separate arrangements for vehicles carrying flammable materials”
To prevent such accidents in future, arrangements should be made to create separate roads for vehicles carrying highly flammable substances and goods, the court said. Alarms should be installed at black spots and warning signs should be installed at dangerous U-turns. The court also ordered Bar Association President Mahendra Shandilya, Solicitor General of India Raj Deepak Rastogi, Sandeep Pathak and other lawyers to assist the court in the matter.
The accident resulted in 14 deaths and 27 injuries
On Friday, 14 people were killed in an LPG tanker accident on the Jaipur-Ajmer Expressway, while 27 others were injured and are undergoing treatment in the hospital. The horrific gas accident has shocked the country and raised concerns about road safety.
In fact, a truck crashed into a tanker truck filled with LPG. Gas leaking from the tanker caught fire and soon formed a giant shape. It swallowed up a large portion of the highway and vehicles traveling on the highway were hit by it.
