The bundles of banknotes were hidden in a pile of manure. Two people were arrested in the case. The entire incident took place in Mandaluni village under Kamarda police station area of ​​Balasore district.
In fact, the matter came to light after the Hyderabad Agricultural Industries Corporation received a complaint of a theft of Rs 21 lakh. Gopal Behera, who was charged with theft, had worked at the company for 10 years. Behera allegedly turned off the company’s CCTV cameras and then made off with a huge sum of Rs 21 lakh.
Money hidden in a pile of feces
According to sources, after the theft, Gopal handed over the entire amount to his brother-in-law Rajendra Behera for safekeeping. Thereafter, Rajendra reached his village Mandaluni where he hid the stolen money in a pile of dung near his house. He thought no one would notice this and that the money was perfectly safe here.

After the incident came to light, the Hyderabad crime branch examined the CCTV footage, after which the suspect turned to Gopal. After this, the team reached Balasore. However, during this time, Gopal fled the scene. During the police search, the stolen money was recovered from the dung pile. In this case, the police arrested Gopal’s brother-in-law Rajendra and his mother, who are currently being interrogated.
The crime branch is busy searching for Gopal. The team hopes to find out if Gopal was involved in the theft alone or if he collaborated with others to steal the money. The new method of hiding stolen money is surprising even locals.
