Three elephants electrocuted
In a tragic incident, three elephants died due to electrocution in the Naktidul range of Odisha’s Sambalpur district on Sunday night. The incident occurred in the Badmar forest area, where hunters had laid deadly wire traps to trap wild boars. After the incident, local people strongly demanded that the forestry department crack down on poachers.
Giving information about the incident, forest department officials said that three elephants, including a calf, died. Three elephants roam the Naktideul range in search of food. During this time, all three elephants became trapped in the power grid and died. Hunters set this trap to kill wild boars, but the elephants inadvertently lost their lives. The electric shock is very powerful. As a result, all three elephants died on the spot.
