A disgusting incident of rape of an innocent girl studying in nursery class has taken place in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. Regarding the incident, a senior police officer said that a school van driver has been arrested on charges of raping a nursery student in East Singhbhum district of Jharkhand.
According to the news agency, the incident took place on Friday in Mango area of the city. After the victim’s mother lodged an FIR on Saturday, a special police team arrested the accused Jayshree Tiwari, resident of Daiguttu in Mango police station area, within three hours.
Regarding this matter, SP (city and rural) Rishabh Garg said that the medical checkup of the three and a half year old girl was done and the accused driver has been sent to judicial custody on Sunday. After returning home from school on Friday, the minor victim complained of stomach ache and narrated how her school driver misbehaved with her.
The SP said that on receiving the information yesterday, SSP Kishore Kaushal formed a special police team and directed them to arrest the culprit as per the provisions of the POCSO Act. Before arresting the driver, a female police officer was also sent to the victim’s house to gather information about the incident.
The school van has also been seized after the arrest of the driver, the SP said, adding that the police have taken the incident seriously and have assured the victim’s family of filing a charge sheet within a week.
