NSA Ajit Doval met Putin, Russian President invited PM Modi for BRICS summit

Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with India’s National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval at the Konstantinovsky Palace in St. Petersburg. During the talks, Putin discussed the development of strategic partnership between India and Russia. He also stressed the importance of security issues in bilateral relations. Putin thanked India for maintaining dialogue in this area.

Let us tell you that amid renewed efforts to find a solution to the Ukraine dispute, NSA Ajit Doval met Russian President Vladimir Putin. This meeting took place during the conference of National Security Advisors of BRICS (Brazil-Russia-India-China-South Africa) countries.

During this, Putin invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit Russia for the BRICS summit to be held next month. The Russian President also proposed a bilateral meeting with PM Modi on October 22 during the BRICS summit. Russian media quoted Putin as saying that we are waiting for our good friend PM Modi and wish him all the best.

On this, NSA Ajit Doval expressed his gratitude on behalf of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He also informed about PM Modi’s readiness to share information about his recent visit to Ukraine.

Earlier, Ajit Doval held extensive talks with his Russian counterpart Sergei Shoigu and discussed important issues of mutual interest. On the talks between Doval and Shoigu, the Indian Embassy in Russia said that the two sides reviewed the progress in bilateral cooperation and discussed important issues of mutual interest. Doval’s visit to Russia comes two and a half weeks after PM Modi’s visit to Ukraine.

Let us tell you that in his conversation with Zelensky, PM Modi had said that both Ukraine and Russia should sit together without wasting time to end the war and India is ready to play an “active role” to restore peace in the region. The Prime Minister had said that India has been in favor of peace since the beginning of the conflict and he would like to personally contribute to the peaceful resolution of the crisis.
