IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi campus: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi is going to start two new undergraduate courses in its Abu Dhabi campus. Giving this information, Director of the Institute, Ranjan Banerjee said that IIT Delhi will start two new undergraduate courses in the Abu Dhabi campus from September. Earlier, only post graduate courses were taught in this campus, which started in 2023, but now undergraduate courses in Computer Science Engineering and Energy Engineering are going to be started here.

Director of the institute Ranjan Banerjee said that a total of 60 students will be admitted in these two courses. Of these, 20 students will be able to clear JEE (Advanced) 2024 and the remaining 40 students will be selected through a new entrance test called Combined Admission Entrance Test (CAET). Of the 40 seats to be filled through CAET, 20 are reserved for UAE citizens and 20 for Indians and students from other countries living in the UAE.

Plan to build a permanent campus of IIT Delhi-Abu Dhabi
The director also informed that the Abu Dhabi Campus is working closely with companies and partners in the UAE and the Gulf region. Research, innovation and entrepreneurship activities are also expected to start here soon. He said that there is a plan to build a permanent campus of IIT Delhi-Abu Dhabi.

Currently professors will be sent from IIT Delhi
For now, professors from Delhi campus are being sent to Abu Dhabi campus. But soon professors will be recruited for the Abu Dhabi campus also. The Director said, β€œIn due course, there will be recruitment of faculty for the Abu Dhabi campus also, which will be in line with the faculty recruitment standards of IIT Delhi and following similar processes, to ensure that the education at the Abu Dhabi campus The quality should be as per the standards established at Delhi campus.”

Will students who did not get admission here be able to take admission in Abu Dhabi?
When this question was asked to Professor Rangan Banerjee, Director of IIT Delhi, during a press conference, he smiled and replied that most of the students who apply for admission in IIT Delhi do not get admission. We will not allow injustice to be done to the students who got admission here and the tough competition they have gone through to reach here, that is, at present there is no plan that the children who did not get admission here will be given admission in Abu Dhabi.
