Now the villagers are in trouble. The government here is purchasing cow dung. Do you know what the price is?

Himachal Pradesh Agriculture Minister Chandra Kumar said on Tuesday that a tender has been issued to purchase organic cow dung at Rs 3 per kg. The government will also provide bags, transportation and storage facilities to the successful bidders. He said that high and new technologies will be applied to agriculture to increase farmers’ income and focus on the development of organic agriculture.

Organic cow dung will be purchased at Rs 3 per kg

The Agriculture Minister said that in order to keep agriculture sustainable, the monthly income of a farmer family should be between Rs 20,000 and Rs 25,000. The Congress party had promised to buy cow dung at two rupees per kilogram before the last assembly elections, but instead of buying raw cow dung, we will buy organic cow dung at three rupees per kilogram.

Cow dung is natural and nutritious

Agriculture Minister Chandra Kumar said organic cow dung is a natural and nutrient-rich fertilizer. It can be used to improve soil health and plant growth. “Tenders have been floated for purchasing organic cow dung at Rs 3 per kg and the company responsible for the work will provide bags, filling and sealing and provide transportation and storage facilities,” he said. He will get Rs 4-5 per kg. remuneration.

Cow dung will be stored

The minister said cow dung will also be stored in the warehouse of Himachal Pradesh State Cooperative Marketing and Consumer Federation Limited (HIMFED). The deputy district commissioners of each district have been directed to put the closed farms into use. Organic crop production in closed farms will start with guaranteed irrigation through contract farming. In this way, other farmers will actively adopt organic farming methods on a profit and loss basis.

Apart from this, he said newly recruited staff from the Ministry of Agriculture will be sent to receive training in land use planning, soil fertility, three-dimensional mapping and crop “patterns” to enable them to grow cash crops to increase their income. Remote sensing techniques can be used to detect clusters at the microscopic level.
