Many important proposals were approved at the cabinet meeting held on Monday under the chairmanship of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. A total of 27 important proposals from the Department of Higher Education, Department of Water and Electricity, Department of Animal Husbandry, Department of Finance and other departments were reviewed and approved at this meeting. Now the teacher transfer policy of the Ministry of Higher Education has also been approved. As per this decision, teachers can now be transferred after three years. The current transfer period is 5 years.

Apart from this, the cabinet also approved the amendments to the Uttar Pradesh Private Universities Act, 2019, which will provide opportunities for educational institutions from other states to set up institutions in Uttar Pradesh. For the Central University of English and Foreign Languages ​​in Lucknow, the land has been identified and approved at Chakrauli Pargana Bijnor, Sarojini Nagar Tehsil, Lucknow.

Big decisions for retired employees

The Finance Ministry has approved the proposal to amend the Uttar Pradesh Retirement Benefits Rules, 1961 for retired state employees. As of now, if a retired employee did not leave behind his nominee or heir, his gratuity would be transferred to the government. According to the new amendment, if a person presents a certificate of inheritance from a competent court, then the money will be handed over to him.

Projects of Jal Shakti Department

The Cabinet on behalf of the Jal Shakti Department approved the revised proposal for the second phase of the Central Ganga Canal Project, which will benefit around 1,850 villages in Sambhar, Amroha and Moradabad. Apart from this, the second revised proposal of the Bhaurat Dam project in Lalitpur has also been approved. Besides, the proposal for the Ken-Betwa link project, which will provide relief to drought-hit areas of Bundelkhand and boost the agriculture sector, has also been given green signal.

New policies for animal husbandry

In order to overcome the shortage of veterinarians in the state, the policy of starting diploma and certificate courses under animal husbandry courses has been approved. The cabinet has approved the Uttar Pradesh molasses policy proposal for 2024-25. The applicable period of this policy is from November 1, 2024 to October 31, 2025. Under this, 19% molasses reserve has also been approved.

Yoga and tourism development

The proposal to set up an international yoga and wellness center in Baghpat district has also been approved. As per the agreement, 1.069 hectares of land in Hariyakhewa village of Baghpat tehsil will be transferred to the tourism department free of charge. This will boost tourism in the field of yoga and wellness and open up new possibilities for the wellness tourism sector in the state.

Decisions about heritage buildings

In a bid to preserve the state’s historic buildings, a proposal to develop them on a public-private partnership model has also been approved. At the same time, the cabinet also approved an investment incentive proposal of Rs 3 billion under the Uttar Pradesh Electronics Manufacturing Policy 2020. It is believed that this will boost the electronics industry in the state and create new jobs.
