Man-Eating Wolves Terror in Bahraich: On the orders of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, a special team of nine shooters has been deployed to kill the man-eating wolf in the Bahraich forest. Shooters from the forest department and police have been included in that team. An official from the state government gave this information on Wednesday.

Giving information in this matter, Divisional Forest Officer of Bahraich, Ajit Pratap Singh told PTI that out of the shooters included in this special team, six are from the Forest Department while three are from UP Police.

The Divisional Forest Officer further said that the Forest Department has divided the entire operation into three major sections. Apart from three special teams in the three sections, one team has been kept in reserve. Three shooters have been deployed in each special section.

Ajit Pratap Singh said that the main task of the team is to identify the man-eating wolf and transfer it to a zoo or shoot it. Now it will not be left open in the forest. When a wolf is seen, it will be decided whether to catch it and lock it up or shoot it, depending on the situation.

According to Divisional Forest Officer Ajit Pratap Singh, his priority will be to tranquilize and catch the wolf on the spot, but if needed, no leniency will be shown in shooting the wolf.

Wolves have been attacking humans in Bahraich since March. The attacks have increased since the rainy season began on July 17. As of Monday, wolves have killed eight people, including seven children, and about 36 people have been injured.
