Not UP, this state has issued the highest number of e-challan, who has the highest income?

The country issues nearly one lakh challans every day

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, while replying to a question in the Lok Sabha, said that between January 1, 2019 and December 31, 2023, more than Rs 18.24 crore of e-challan was distributed across the country. These challenges have generated revenue of Rs 12,632 crore. Of these figures provided by the Lok Sabha, Tamil Nadu has issued the highest number of seizures. Uttar Pradesh has always topped the list in terms of income.

By distributing the highest challan of Rs 557 crore in Tamil Nadu, the state earned Rs 755.58 crore. While UP recovered Rs 2,495 crore by deducting e-challan of Rs 44 crore. Tamil Nadu may have released the most Challans, but it ranks sixth in terms of revenue.

Ranked No. 1 in UP Publishing Challenge

Today, the police no longer issue tickets but electronic tickets at intersections, which are issued with the help of CCTV. Except for a few states, almost every state in the country generates e-challan. According to the data provided by the Lok Sabha, Tamil Nadu is distributing 30,540 challans per day, while Uttar Pradesh is distributing 24,098 challans per day. With the help of these challans, UP earns Rs 136 crore and Tamil Nadu Rs 80.23 lakh per day.

About 100,000 Challans per day

Nitin Gadkari said in the Lok Sabha that 99,893 e-challenges are issued daily across the country and the revenue earned from these e-challenges in 2019 and 2023 was Rs 691 crore. The ministry said the figures do not include Telangana, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland and the Union Territory of Lakshadweep, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, where e-challan has not been implemented so far.

There are 385 million registered vehicles nationwide

Union Minister Gadkari told the House that as of November 30, the total number of registered motor vehicles in India was approximately Rs 38.51 crore. He also said that as of November 30, more than 1.07 million of India’s 2.18 million transport vehicles were equipped with speed limiting devices (SLDs).

Gadkari said that under Sarathi 4.0, 18.20 crore people in the country currently have valid driving licenses, while 95.79 lakh people have learner’s licenses.
