The West Bengal government has again called the protesting doctors for talks at 5 pm on Thursday. After the Supreme Court’s order, the Mamata government has for the third time written a letter to the junior doctors, who have been protesting for a month against the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital scandal in Kolkata, for talks. However, the government did not accept the two conditions put forward by the doctors for the meeting.

In its letter, the government accepted the doctors’ demand for the presence of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in the meeting, but rejected their condition of live telecast of the meeting. Along with this, it has been decided to allow only 15 doctors instead of the delegation of 30 protesting doctors. This meeting will be held in the conference hall of Nabanna.

In the letter written by Bengal Chief Secretary Manoj Pant, it has been said that the number of delegations should not exceed 15 people. Pant also said that the meeting can be recorded to maintain transparency.

The letter written by the Chief Secretary said, “The meeting will not be telecast live. However, it may be recorded to maintain transparency. This will serve the intended purpose on your part, while also maintaining the sanctity of the proceedings and ensuring that all discussions are properly documented.”

Let us tell you that this is the third letter written by the Bengal government to the doctors in the last two days, in which the protesters have rejected the previous two proposals and set concrete conditions for the meeting. At present, the protesting doctors have not responded to this third invitation of the government for the meeting.

Doctors had placed this demand on the second invitation

Let us tell you that despite the Supreme Court’s deadline, the doctors have not ended their protest. The Supreme Court had given the doctors a deadline of 5 pm on Tuesday to return to work. But the doctors continued the protest. At the same time, the Bengal government had also called a delegation of 10 doctors to meet on Tuesday. An email was also sent to the students. But this proposal of the Mamata government was rejected by the protesting doctors.

After this, the doctors were again called for a meeting on Wednesday. The doctors accepted it but put some conditions. These conditions were- We want that 30 representatives should be allowed in the meeting. We want CM Mamata Banerjee to also be present in that meeting. Also, live streaming of this meeting should also be done, so that everyone can know what was discussed.
