Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust general secretary Champat Rai has said that the ongoing construction work related to the Ram temple in Ayodhya is expected to generate goods and services tax (GST) of about Rs 400 crore. However, the actual tax collection figure will be known only after the construction work is completed.

Rai said at a public felicitation ceremony in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, I estimate that the government will get around Rs 400 crore in the form of GST from the Ram temple construction work. A total of 18 temples will be built in the complex being developed on 70 acres. This will include temples of Maharishi Valmiki, Shabari and Tulsidas. We will pay 100 percent tax. Not even a rupee will be reduced in tax.

Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) international vice-president Rai said that the Ram temple in Ayodhya is being constructed with the cooperation of the society and the arrangements are such that no one will face any problem even if 2 lakh devotees arrive.

The movement is no less than a 1000-year-old freedom struggle

VHP leader Rai said, “I don’t know how many people, their families and relatives had to suffer during the movement to build a temple at Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya. This yagya (movement) is no less than a 1,000-year-old freedom struggle. This (movement) was done for public welfare.”

Came to Madhya Pradesh on the call of IAS

Rai also visited Bakawa village in Khargone district of Madhya Pradesh and finalised the ‘Shivling’ for the construction of the Shiva temple in Ayodhya. Champat Rai said, I went there on the suggestion of an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer. Bakawa, located on the banks of the Narmada river, is famous for the manufacture of beautiful Shivlings, which are installed in temples across the world.
