Noor Tata becomes new chairman of Tata Trusts after Ratan Tata, know everything about him

Noel Tata has been appointed as the new chairman of Tata Trusts. Ratan Tata’s step-brother Noel Tata was appointed as the new chairman of Tata Trusts at a meeting in Mumbai today following his death on Wednesday. The decision was taken with everyone’s consent at the meeting. Accordingly, Noel was appointed as the head of Sir Ratan Tata Trust and Sir Dorabji Tata Trust, two of the most important philanthropic institutions of the Tata Group. Earlier, he had been involved with these institutions as a trustee. Now he has been appointed chairman of Tata Trusts.

Ratan Tata played an important role in the establishment of the Tata Trusts. Tata Trusts owns a major stake in Tata Sons, the holding company of the Tata Group. The share is approximately 66%. The Tata Group operates under the umbrella of Tata Trusts. The Trust oversees charitable initiatives and governance.

Noel becomes 11th and 6th Chairman
Noel Tata studied at the University of Sussex, UK, and the International Executive Program (IEP) at INSEAD. Noel is known for his strategic acumen and commitment to the Group’s vision. Noel Tata elected as 11th Chairman of Sir Dorabji Tata Trust and 6th Chairman of Sir Ratan Tata Trust .

Fulfilling these responsibilities in the Tata Group
Ratan Tata’s half-brother Noel Tata has been given new responsibilities at Tata Trusts. Noel also serves as a trustee of Tata Trusts. He has also served as Chairman of Tata International Ltd. for the past few years. He has a long history with the Tata Group spanning four decades. He has held senior positions in companies such as Trent, Voltas and Tata Investment Corporation. Not only this, he also serves as the Vice Chairman of Tata Steel and Titan Limited. Apart from this, he also has deep connections with the Tata ecosystem.

Grow a company from $500 million to $3 billion
While serving as Managing Director of Tata International Ltd., he was instrumental in driving the company’s revenue from $500 million to over $3 billion between 2010 and 2021. From a single retail store in 1998, Trent Limited Company has grown into a strong network of over 700 stores across India under his leadership.

Served as Chairman of Tata Sons
Noel was initially selected as chairman of Tata Sons, but the position was later replaced by his brother-in-law Cyrus Mistry. N Chandrasekaran took over as chairman of Tata Sons after Mistry’s controversial resignation. Recent reports suggest a rapprochement between Noel and Ratan Tata, reinforcing a sense of unity among the group’s leadership.

Ratan Tata passed away on Wednesday evening at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. His last rites were performed yesterday. Compatriots across the country bid him farewell with tears. His stepbrother Noel Tata was appointed chairman of Tata Trusts at a meeting in Mumbai today.
