Nominations for 43 seats in the first phase of Jharkhand will begin tomorrow and voting will take place on November 13.

The Jharkhand Assembly elections will begin on Friday. Nominations for the 43 seats in the upcoming first phase of elections will begin on October 18. The last date to submit nominations is October 25, and nominations can be submitted between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. (excluding holidays). All candidates must adhere to the guidelines set by the Election Commission. Jharkhand Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) K Ravi Kumar said these words at a press conference held at Election Bhawan in Durwa on Thursday.

The official said the review date of nomination papers is October 28, while the last date for withdrawal of nominations for the first phase of elections is October 30.

This year, the Jharkhand Assembly elections will be held in two phases. The first phase of voting will be held on November 13, the second phase of voting will be held on November 20, and the results will be announced on November 23. A deposit of Rs 10,000 is required at the time of registration.

Chief Electoral Officer K Ravi Kumar said that only three vehicles will be allowed for candidates within 100 meters of the nomination venue and only four people, including candidates, will be allowed to enter the nomination hall. Candidates have to submit a proposal signed by 10 people and pay a deposit of Rs 10,000 for general candidates and Rs 5,000 for caste/scheduled tribe candidates.

Each candidate must complete Form 26 and submit an affidavit containing details of their criminal record, which should be published in three newspapers and on social media. A separate bank account should be opened for payment of election expenses.

Election officials said the total number of voters in Jharkhand was Rs 2.6 billion. Among them, 1.184 million are first-time voters.

Voting for these 43 seats will be held in the first phase

Voting will be held on November 13 in 43 constituencies in the state. These seats are Koderma, Barkatha, Barhi, Barkagaon, Hazaribagh, Jamshedpur West, Ichagarh, Ranchi, Jamshedpur East, Daltonganj, Hatia, Panki, Baharagora, Bishrampur, Hussainabad, Garhwa and Bhavanathpur.

Apart from this, the Scheduled Tribe constituencies also include Ghazira, Manohapur, Chakradhapur, Hasavan, Thamar, Tolpa, Khunti, Mandal, Potka, Selekela , Chaibasa, Gumla, Bishonpur, Simdgarh, Kolaibilla, Mazgaon, Jagannathpur, Sisai, Lohardaga and Manika.

The scheduled caste assembly seats include Jugsalai, Kanke, Simaria, Chatra, Latehar and Chhatarpur. Polling for these seats will be held on November 13.
