Noise is one of the few brands that has been quite active in the affordable TWS space. The company has been launching new audio products in this segment and the latest is the Noise Buds N1 Pro. The company’s latest TWS comes with some interesting features and is priced at an affordable Rs 1,799. This affordable TWS offers 11mm drivers, Noise’s Instacharge technology, quad-mic support, long-lasting battery life, and more. However, is it enough to leave a lasting impression? Let’s find out in this in-depth review.

Noise Buds N1 Pro design and features: compact and lightweight

  • Dimensions- 43 x 56 x 28mm (case)
  • Weight – 39 grams (including case)
  • Water and dust resistant – IPX5 (Buds only)
  • Colors – Chrome Green, Chrome Purple, Chrome Beige and Chrome Black

It’s safe to say that Noise is one of the few brands in the space that tries to offer unique color options and designs with its TWS products. The same is true for the Noise Buds N1 Pro. The device is available in different chrome finishes including green, purple, beige, and black. My favorites are the green and purple ones, which offer a premium look and feel.

2. Noise Cancelling Earbuds N1 Pro

The Noise Buds N1 Pro are available in green, beige, purple, and black.

The charging case looks compact and has a metallic finish, which certainly gives it a nice look. Although it is made of plastic, the quality seems decent considering the price. The compact size and rounded corners of the case make it easier to slip into pockets. There is a small LED indicator to show the TWS charge level. While the design looks compact compared to the Redmi Buds 5C, the Noise TWS seems to leave a bit to be desired.

The earphones come with a wedge-shaped stem with an indicator light on the top. The stems come in glossy and matte finishes, which looks very reasonable. Moreover, the earphones are lightweight and compact enough to sit comfortably in your ears, and you can wear them for long periods of time. The silicone ear tips also provide some decent passive noise reduction. Interestingly, the earphones also have an IPX5 rating, making them sweat and dust resistant, which is a rare feature in this price segment.

Noise Buds N1 Pro specs: Pretty standard

  • Driver – 11mm
  • Companion App – Not applicable
  • Gesture control – Yes (tap and swipe)

Unfortunately, the Noise Buds N1 Po do not come with a companion app, which is really disappointing. This limits the entire experience as you cannot choose custom sound profiles, touch controls, etc., which are only possible with the companion app. In this regard, the Xiaomi Buds 5C seems to be a better choice as it offers a companion app and many customization options.

3. Noise Buds N1 Pro

The ANC function of Noise Buds N1 Pro is up to 32dB.

Talking about the specifications, the Noise Buds N1 Pro offers some interesting features. The earphones are equipped with 11mm drivers and have up to 32db active noise cancellation. It also supports Bluetooth 5.3 and quad-microphones with ENC (environmental noise cancellation).

Noise Buds N1 Pro performance, battery life: Heavy bass, long battery life

  • Active Noise Cancellation – 32dB
  • Charging – Wired (USB Type-C)
  • Bluetooth – 5.3

The Noise Buds N1 Pro perform well for this price point. Equipped with up to 32 dB of active noise cancellation (ANC), the earphones perform well in indoor conditions, suppressing the noise of a fan or air conditioner or someone talking in the background. However, it is not suitable for loud environments, and you may need to lower the volume to offset background noise.

4. Noise Buds N1 Pro

Wireless earphones with bass-heavy sound quality.

Simply tap and hold the right earbud to turn ANC mode on or off. The other touch controls are simple, too. Swipe up or down on the right earbud to increase the volume, while swiping up or down on the left earbud lowers it. You can also double-tap each earbud to play or pause music. Finally, tap and hold the left earbud to activate low-latency mode.

In low latency mode, the headset performs well, with a response time of 40ms. This allows you to watch movies or play games like BGMI or COD Mobile without much audio lag.

Talking about the performance, the Noise Buds N1 Pro offers a bass-heavy sound signature. So, if you are someone who loves bass, then you will definitely like this earphone. While listening to Bass Rani by Nucelya, the bass was punchy, while the vocal separation was good. However, the bass did overwhelm the highs and mids. This was evident while listening to Hotel California, as the bass overwhelmed the mids and vocals. Also, there is some bleeding and distortion when you listen at maximum volume. Therefore, it is recommended to use a volume of around 60% to 70% for the best sound output.

The battery life of these earbuds is also pretty good. The company claims that the earbuds can last up to 60 hours with the charging case. During testing, I was able to easily get around 40 hours of playback with the charging case, while the average battery life of these earbuds was closer to 5 to 6 hours. The charging time of these earbuds is barely less than 2 hours from 0% to 100%.

5. Noise Buds N1 Pro

The Noise Buds N1 Pro come with an impressive battery and support fast charging.

However, what I am not too happy about this headset is its connectivity. Pairing the headset with a smartphone or laptop is a very difficult task. If you want to start pairing, you need to tap and hold the right earbud. However, the whole process is not consistent and sometimes the headset fails to connect to the device.

Talking about call quality, the Noise Buds N1 Pro offer a decent experience. The four-mic ENC works well in indoor conditions and the receiver can hear voices clearly. However, when you are in a busy environment, the microphones do a mediocre job in canceling out external noise.

Noise Buds N1 Pro review

All in all, the Noise Buds N1 Pro offers a good combination of performance and design. The TWS features a metal finish that makes it stand out from the crowd. Its performance will definitely appeal to those who like to listen to heavy bass. The battery life is also good. Having said that, it definitely has its fair share of hits and misses. The bass overwhelms the highs and mids, while connectivity issues and the lack of a companion app ruin the entire experience. We also have some fierce competitors in this price range, including the Redmi Buds 5C (Review), Honor Choice Earbuds X5 (Review), and more.
