Best Medical College in Maharashtra: The Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) has released the result of the seat allotment in the first phase of Undergraduate National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG) counseling. The seat locking process for admission to MBBS, BDS, BSc Nursing courses closed on August 21. MCC had extended the last date for choice filling and seat locking from August 20 to August 21. The result of the first phase seat allocation will be released tomorrow on August 23. At the same time, the candidates will now have to report to the colleges where they have been allotted seats between August 24 and 29. Data verification of the candidates will be done on August 30 and August 31. Meanwhile, good news has come for the candidates waiting to study medicine from Maharashtra. Many medical colleges of Maharashtra have made it to the top 50 in the NIRF 2024 ranking.

In fact, the Indian Ministry of Education recently released the list of National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2024. In this list, IIT Madras not only ranked first as an engineering institute but also among all educational institutions. Apart from engineering institutes, if we talk about the best medical colleges of the country, then 3 colleges of Maharashtra have won in the top 50 medical colleges of the country.

These are the three best medical colleges in Maharashtra

1. According to NIRF Ranking 2024, Dr. DY Patil Vidyapeeth located in Pimpri-Chinchwad, Maharashtra is the first best medical college in the state and 11th best medical college in the country with a score of 64.10.
2. Datta Meghe Institute of Higher Education and Research, Wardha, Maharashtra, ranks second in the state and 23rd in the country with a score of 60.14.
3. The Armed Forces Medical College, Pune, Maharashtra, is ranked third in the state and 30th in the country with a score of 57.68.

How is the ranking decided?

Under the NIRF i.e. National Institute of Ranking Framework, the Government of India ranks higher educational institutes across the country on the basis of their performance. The parameters on which the institutes are ranked are learning and resources, research and professional practice, graduation outcomes, outreach and perception.

Three new categories added in NIRF 2024 ranking
This year, three new categories have been added to the NIRF ranking categories besides universities, colleges, research institutes, engineering, management, pharmacy, medical, dental, law, architecture and planning, agriculture and allied sectors, and innovation. For the first time, state universities, skill universities and open universities categories have also been added to the NIRF ranking.
