Born on 14 April 1891, Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar – popular among his followers as Babasaheb – was the chairman of the most important drafting committee of the Constitution Assembly who earned him the Monikar Architect of the Indian Constitution. He was also the Minister of Law and Justice after the independence of Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru’s first cabinet.
Ambedkar, who played an important role in social movements, fought for the rights of Dalits and untouchables, received PhD in Economics from Columbia University in 1927 and a respected degree in 1952.
Chauhan said that Dr. Ambedkar’s ideal borders and time are beyond time, find a strong relationship in the United Nations hall and the New York-A city which is manufactured by immigrants, active by its diversity and united by its shared belief in opportunity and inclusion.
Deelip Mhaske, president of the Foundation for Human Horizon, said that it is the intensive recognition of one of the most transformative champions of equality and civil rights of the world, which on 14 April ‘Dr. Bhimrao has been declared as Ramji Ambedkar Day.
The announcement gave Dr. Ambedkar accepted heritage in excluding justice for democracy, dignity, women empowerment and historically marginalized communities, Mahske said.
Mhaske expressed gratitude to Adams, saying that “This announcement is more than symbolic-this is a moral declaration that ranks New York as a global capital for human rights and justice.” Earlier in a program organized by the permanent mission of India at the United Nations, Athawale said that Dr. The principles for which Bribedkar fought – equity, representation and human rights – 2030 – are more relevant in the collective efforts of the international community to achieve sustainable development goals.
“Dr. Ambedkar’s life is not just a chapter in Indian history-it is a beacon for all humanity. Born in adversity, he crossed every barrier imposed by caste, poverty and colonial harassment to become a global lawyer for equality, dignity and democracy.
“His advocacy moves far from India’s borders, making him an icon for the modern human rights movement,” Athwale said.
Prior to this program at the United Nations, Athawale did Dr. at the Lehman Library at Columbia University. He paid his tribute to Ambedkar’s statue, which he said in a post on X, “was built as a symbol of knowledge.
