Delhi government minister and AAP MLA Atishi has given a statement on the controversy that started on August 15 regarding hoisting the tricolor. He said, “The elected government of Delhi is being deprived of the right to hoist the national flag. The new Viceroy has come, he wants to hoist the national flag.” He further said that LG wants to hoist the national flag on Independence Day, it is the right of the elected government to hoist the national flag.
Atishi further said that on August 15, we hoist the tricolor flag to celebrate the country’s independence and raise the voice of the common people. Before 1947, the country was ruled by the British and they ruled the country as per their wish. Today, the elected government of Delhi is being prevented from hoisting the flag, so it seems that a new Viceroy has arrived in Delhi.
‘What greater dictatorship than this…’
Atishi, a minister in the Delhi government, further said that LG Saheb is stopping the elected government of Delhi from hoisting the flag. What could be a bigger dictatorship than this? Now we have to see whether BJP is with democracy or stands with dictatorship.
Atishi said, “The elected government and the Chief Minister have the right to hoist the flag on Independence Day in Delhi, but he is currently in judicial custody, so being a minister, he asked me to hoist the flag. For this, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal wrote a letter. And ordered that being a minister, I should hoist the flag on August 15, but the officials refused to accept this order also.”
