The national political situation is in turmoil after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced his resignation. He is likely to resign as the chief minister on Tuesday, September 17. Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party has called a meeting of the legislature to elect the chief minister of Delhi, after which Kejriwal will meet the lieutenant governor and submit his resignation.

The Aam Aadmi Party announced this on Monday and has called a meeting of the party’s legislature at 11:30 am on Tuesday. After discussing the name of the Delhi Chief Minister in this meeting, Arvind Kejriwal will meet the LG at 4:30 pm and submit his resignation.
It is learnt that before Kejriwal resigns, the name of the party leader in the legislature and the next Delhi Chief Minister will be announced. A meeting in this regard will be held at the CM Residence.

AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj said Arvind Kejriwal is consulting every leader on the election of a new chief minister at the AAP Political Affairs Committee meeting. Arvind Kejriwal will discuss the issue of a new chief minister in the legislature meeting on Tuesday.

AAP releases official meeting notice

Meanwhile, for this AAP Legislature Party Meeting, the party’s national secretary Pankaj Gupta has issued a formal notice of the meeting to all MLAs. AAP national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday chaired an important Political Affairs Committee (PAC) meeting to discuss the appointment of the new Chief Minister of Delhi. All the ministers of the current cabinet attended the meeting, and Kejriwal held one-on-one discussions with them to brainstorm and agree on the candidate for the new Chief Minister.

Sharing information about the AAP PAC meeting, senior AAP leader and Cabinet minister Saurabh Bhardwaj said that on Sunday, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had requested his resignation from the post of Chief Minister on Tuesday. On Monday, Arvind Kejriwal had requested his resignation.

He further said, “The lieutenant governor has made an appointment for Tuesday evening. Accordingly, AAP national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal convened a meeting of the Political Affairs Committee (PAC) on Monday. The meeting was attended by senior party leaders and all ministers in the present cabinet.

The Delhi Minister also said that CM Arvind Kejriwal discussed the issue of Delhi Chief Minister one by one with the PAC members and ministers present in the meeting and took their feedback. A meeting of the AAP legislative party will be held on Tuesday where Chief Minister Kejriwal will present the discussions held by the legislators in the PAC meeting and take a decision on the candidate for Delhi Chief Minister.

Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party may keep the next minister in suspense. But the names of four leaders are said to be in the race for the chief ministerial post, including Atishi, Kailash Gehlot, Gopal Rai and Saurabh Bhardwaj.

BJP has been attacking AAP ever since Kejriwal announced his resignation as chief minister. Chief spokesperson of Delhi BJP and MLA from Laxmi Nagar Abhay Verma said, “The plan is not clear yet. There are no parameters. Everyone is filling forms. No one knows who will benefit from this plan. We are also waiting for the final draft of the plan.”
