Nepal has started supplying electricity to Bihar. An official said that Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has started supplying 40 MW electricity to Bihar for the first time. NEA spokesperson Chandan Ghosh said that NEA has started this supply of electricity through Kataiya-Kushwaha transmission line in the first phase on Thursday. He said that Nepal has got approval to supply 125 MW electricity to Bihar. He said that its capacity will be increased gradually.

Supply of 620 MW every day

According to information, currently about 620 megawatts of electricity is being supplied to India every day. Last year, Nepal earned a revenue of Rs 17.06 billion by selling electricity to India. During the same period, Nepal imported electricity worth Rs 16.93 billion.

Approval was given by India

According to reports, India had allowed Nepal to export 251 MW of additional power last month. A government statement said that this is the first time Nepal will supply power to Bihar under a medium-term sales agreement.

How much did Nepal earn

Last year, Nepal earned a revenue of Rs 17.06 billion by selling electricity to India. The statement said that even before this approval of 251 MW, Nepal had already sold electricity worth 16.93 billion Nepalese rupees in the last financial year. Let us tell you that India and Nepal have signed an agreement for long-term electricity trade, in which it has been said that Nepal will sell up to 10,000 MW of electricity to India in the next 10 years.
